Terms of service
The agreement between Alyner and the practice using the platform. What we provide, what you take on, what it costs, and where responsibility sits. Written to be read, not skipped.
Who this is between
If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
Registered in England and Wales. The company that provides and operates the platform.
The dental practice or group that holds an account, and every clinician and staff member using it under that account.
What we provide
A platform for delivering clear aligner treatment: case submission, AI-supported assessment, orthodontist review, manufacturing coordination and remote monitoring.
Clinical responsibility for every patient stays with the treating clinician. Our assessments are evidence for a clinician, not a substitute for one, and no case proceeds to manufacture without an orthodontist’s approval.
Your responsibilities
- Registration
Every clinician on your account holds current registration with their national or state regulator and appropriate indemnity.
- Clinical judgement
You decide whether a patient is suitable, and you remain responsible for that decision.
- Consent
You obtain informed consent, including consent to share records with us and our manufacturing partner.
- Accuracy
Scans, photographs and medical history you submit are accurate and belong to the patient named.
- Accounts
One person, one account. You tell us promptly when someone leaves.
- Lawful use
No attempt to access another practice’s data, probe the platform without written permission, or resell access without a partner agreement.
Our responsibilities
- Reasonable skill and care in providing the platform
- Patient data kept secure and stored in the UK or EU, as set out in the privacy notice
- Every treatment plan reviewed before manufacture by a registered clinician permitted to prescribe clear aligners where you practise
- Breach notification without undue delay if a personal data breach affects your patients
- 30 days’ notice of any material change to these terms or to pricing
Fees
All fees exclude VAT. Per-case and per-aligner charges follow the price list agreed with you.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time. This is what happens next.
Tell us in writing. The account stays live for the notice period.
They complete as normal, and the fees for them remain payable.
Export your patient records in full at any point.
We retain clinical records for the statutory period as a processor, then destroy them.
Intellectual property
The software, and everything in it other than your data, remains ours.
Patient records, scans and clinical notes remain yours and your patients’. We claim no ownership over them.
Anonymised statistics. We may use aggregated, fully anonymised figures such as treatment durations and refinement rates to improve the platform. This never includes anything that could identify a patient or a practice.
Opt out by emailAvailability
Availability means the API responding. It does not cover your internet connection, or a third party such as an SMS provider.
Liability
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded
- More than the fees you paid us in the preceding 12 months
- Loss of profit or loss of business
- Indirect or consequential loss
Nothing here limits your own clinical liability to your patients. Your professional indemnity remains yours.
Data protection
For patient records you are the controller and we are the processor. Our obligations are set out in the data processing agreement, which forms part of these terms and is available on request.
How that works in practice. Where data lives, who can see it, how long it is kept and how patients exercise their rights is set out on the data protection page.

Changes to these terms
We give 30 days’ notice of material changes by email. If you do not accept them, you may cancel within that period without penalty.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
This is a specific draft written against how the platform works, not legal advice. Have a solicitor with UK data protection and medical device experience review it before real patients are onboarded, and confirm the company details.
Questions about these terms
One email reaches the people who wrote them. If something here is unclear, that is on us to fix.
Tell us which section, and what you are trying to work out.
With a straight answer, not a redirect.
And tell every practice what changed and why.
If we change these terms materially we will tell practices by email and update the version above. Continued use after the notice period means the new version applies.
